Portfolio: Page 2 of 7 At the other end of the design spectrum from the previous page of Dean's portfolio, this modern stereo cabinet highlights one of Dean's specialties: curved and shaped furniture. Bending and curving wood is an exacting art, here executed beautifully by Dean in a contrasting ebonized oak and bird's eye maple. Notice how the side taper is played up in the graduated-size drawer pulls and the smooth curve of the top and drawer fronts. Playful balls support the glass top, adding function to the rounded form. |  |
