Dean Jackson has been designing and building custom furniture in the Toronto area for close to 30 years. Even before earning his university degree in Fine Arts, Dean opened his company Custom Wood Designs and started making furniture for friends and acquaintances when not studying or travelling. Projects gradually became more complex and his customer base expanded through referrals. Publication of his work in books and magazines over the years have augmented his credentials. In 2003, Dean developed his first signature limited edition piece called the AeroPod, patenting the design in Canada and the US. Eleven different versions of the AeroPod have since been made and shown in galleries in New York, Toronto, Los Angeles and Monterey. In 2007, Dean designed, built and furnished the home where he currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
